Moshannon Valley Regional Business Park
The Moshannon Valley Regional Business Park is the latest addition to the Partnership's arsenal of economic development "tools." The fourteen-lot business park provides fifty acres of developable ground and is located one mile east of Philipsburg, and just 22 miles from State College and Penn State University. As well, it is situated close to the new proposed Corridor "O", a four-lane limited access highway that will connect Interstate 80 in Clearfield County with Interstate 99 in Centre County.
Keystone Opportunity Zone Area
The Moshannon Valley Regional Business Park site has been designated as a Keystone Opportunity Zone, allowing businesses located in the park to be exempt from numerous state and local taxes through December 31, 2017. In addition to the tax benefits, the Moshannon Valley Economic Development Partnership is able to secure state loans for eligible companies at the lowest allowable interest rates. Loans through PIDA and Machinery and equipment Loan Fund (MELF) are currently at 3.25% fixed for the term of the loans.
Powdered Metals Cluster Development Initiative
The MVEDP is working to grow the powdered metals industry in the Moshannon Valley region. There are already two new powdered metals businesses located with the Regional Business Park. The area's close proximity to Penn State University's Center for Innovative Sintered Products, the large cluster of powdered metals businesses located one hour away in north central Pennsylvania, and the available workforce, make the Moshannon Valley area a prime location for the growth of the industry.
